Ms. Wiedegreen is a learning specialist in the intermediate grades and has taught grades 3-8 during her years at Burley. She enjoys teaching and supporting diverse learners because she loves seeing the excitement in students when they learn something new. She believes in the power of each individual and is inspired to help children discover their strengths as learners. Ms. Wiedegreen feels at home at Burley because of the sense of community and the love of reading that is shared throughout the building.
In her spare time, Ms. Wiedegreen enjoys kickboxing, reading, trying out new restaurants across the city, and watching Notre Dame football and the Cleveland Indians. She enjoys exploring Chicago and going to parks and museums with her husband and young daughter. Ms. Wiedegreen grew up in Ohio and taught kindergarten for three years before becoming a special education teacher at Burley. In addition to her many accomplishments as a teacher, she also ran the Chicago marathon in 2009. Her favorite breed of dog is a West Highland White Terrier, and she has had a Westie as a pet her entire life. |
