Ms. Skibba is Burley's Instructional Technology Specialist and was previously a third grade teacher. She loves teaching all the students from Kindergarten through eighth grade because she gets to build relationships over the years and see each and every child grow and progress. Her weekly classes build students' skills and responsible technology habits in an atmosphere that is creative, exploratory, and fun. In addition to teaching, she collaborates with colleagues, co-teaches, and provides professional development to support classroom integration of 1:1 iPads and Chromebooks. She has been honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator and presents frequently at educational technology conferences.
Ms. Skibba grew up in Milwaukee, Massachusetts, and Kentucky. She moved to Chicago after college and considers this her true home. As a child, she loved reading books by Beverly Cleary, E.B. White, and Roald Dahl. In her spare time, Ms. Skibba enjoys reading, music, traveling with her husband and son, cooking vegetarian food, and walking her dog. |
