Ms. Manata believes that everyone can create. Art is work, not magic. But it can be magical. She loves teaching art because it connects us to other people throughout time and across the globe, and also builds connections within a classroom and a school community. Her philosophy is that creation is the highest level of learning, and that art enhances other subjects and at the same time stands alone as a unique and irreplaceable learning experience. In Ms. Manata's class, she aims to create a space where students can take creative risks, and make memories with their classmates.
In her spare time, Ms. Manata likes to garden, knit (only scarves), and go to flea markets. She loves to cook, although she doesn't always read the recipe all the way through, which is exciting! She has a husband and two teenage boys, and together they love traveling to Disney World. |
