Ms. Ditto has a passion for math instruction. She loves watching students develop and refine mathematical ideas and arguments and elevate their level of academic sophistication. She values the Burley community because it is so energetic and supportive, and the staff community because it fosters and supports continued learning and growth.
Ms. Ditto enjoys bringing real-world connections to life through mathematical and scientific inquiry. She has several professional inspirations that have transformed her teaching. They include Deborah Ball and her Elementary Mathematics Lab at the University of Michigan; the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago for professional development connected to their math curricula, Math Trailblazers and Everyday Math; and Lucy Calkins for Penny Kittle for reading and writing. Ms. Ditto is a true lifelong learner and enjoys passing that characteristic along to her creative, inquisitive sixth graders. |
